Description
An entrepreneur is an individual who identifies business opportunities, takes calculated risks, and organizes resources to turn innovative ideas into successful ventures. Entrepreneurs are characterized by their ability to innovate, adapt to change, and assume responsibility for the outcomes of their ventures.
Business Person Definition:
A business person is a professional involved in various aspects of business activities, which may include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling resources to achieve organizational goals. Unlike entrepreneurs, business persons may focus on established enterprises and managerial roles.
1.2 Differentiating Between Entrepreneurial Ventures and Business Ventures
Entrepreneurial Ventures:
These are ventures initiated by entrepreneurs, emphasizing innovation, risk taking, and the pursuit of new opportunities. Entrepreneurial ventures often involve creating something new, disrupting existing markets, and pushing the boundaries of traditional business.
Business Ventures:
Business ventures refer to a broader category that includes both
entrepreneurial and more established business activities. While
entrepreneurial ventures are a subset of business ventures, the latter encompasses a wider range of business activities, including those driven by stability and continuity.

ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS
This textbook contains over 1000 worked problems, followed by some 1750 further problems (all with answers). The further problems are contained within some 220 Exercises; each Exercise follows on directly from the relevant section of work, every two or three pages. In addition, the text contains 238 multiple choice questions. Where at all possible, the problems mirror practical situations found in engineering and science. 500 line diagrams enhance the understanding of the theory.
At regular intervals throughout the text are some 18 Revision tests to check understanding. For example, Revision test 1 covers material contained in Chapters
1 to 4, Revision test 2 covers the material in Chapters 5 to 8, and so on. These Revision Tests do not have answers given since it is envisaged that lecturers could
set the tests for students to attempt as part of their course structure. Lecturers’ may obtain a complimentary set of solutions of the Revision Tests in an Instructor’s
Manual available from the publishers via the internet –see below. A list of Essential Formulae is included in the Instructor’s Manual for convenience of reference.
Learning by Example is at the heart of Engineering Mathematics 5th Edition.

Definition of the term “Law”
There is generally no acceptable definition of the word law. Different schools of Law define it differently. Some important definitions of law include: -
1. Woodrow Wilson, has defined law in the words “That portion of the established thought and habit
which has gained distinct and formal recognition in the shape of uniform laws, backed by authority and power of government”
2. According to Holland, “A law is a general rule of external human action enforced by sovereign political authority”
3. In the words of Salmond, “Law is a body of principles recognized and applied by the state in the administration of justice”.
4. Law may also be defined as” a rule of human conduct, imposed upon and enforced among the members of a given state”.
From the above definitions, we may conclude that law refers to “a set of rules or principles that govern the conduct of affairs in a given community at a given time, whereby machinery is provided for an aggrieved party to enforce his right in case any of these rules or principle is broken.
