Online assignment management system project report
Almost all collages and higher institutions of learning, includes some form of assignment in their assessment for each courses. The assignments are allocated manually by the instructor to the students, which are either carried out in groups or by individual student. This manual management of assignment is becoming obsolete due to its inconvenience, inefficiency, and low accuracy. Currently, web-based management systems have been widely implemented due to the development of Web technologies. Therefore in other to effectively manage these assignment process, a well-designed assignment submission system is needed, hence the need for an online assignment submission system to facilitate the allocation, collection and marking of the assignments scripts. This project introduces a web-based Assignment Management System, which automates all the manual aspects of the conventional way of handling assignment. Its friendly user interfaces allow instructors and students to handle their assignments in a convenient, efficient, and simplified manner. In addition, this system also has very good features of portability and extensibility. The aim of this study was to create a web based online assignment submission system and the objective of the system is to facilitate easy interaction of Instructors and students for assignment allocation, submission and grading purposes. The system was created to eliminate the traditional process of allocating an assignment and collecting the feedback for the assignment. The system was implemented as a web based application through the useful tools of hypertext mark-up language, cascading style sheet and Java Script as the front end design while using MySQL database for storing and retrieving data as the back end tool. The implementation of this system was aimed at downloading and uploading online assignments for students, with each interface having information about the instructions and its description for easy access. The main goal of this project is to design and implement online assignment submission and provide an interface use for uploading and downloading assignment by instructors and the submission by the students, while the instructor also perform the task of grading each student submission automatically. The most obvious advantage offered by this online assignment submission system is that it offers an easy and faster transmission of assignments between both the instructor and the students than using the manual process.

The manual system of preparing Class Allocation in Collages within large number of students is very time consuming and usually ends up with various classes clashing either at same room or with same teachers having more than one class at a time. To overcome these problems people usually take the previous year’s timetable and modify it. But still it is a tedious job to incorporate changes every time. To overcome all these problems, we propose to make an automated system. The system will take various inputs like details of students, subjects and class rooms and teachers available. Depending upon these inputs, it will generate a possible time table, making optimal utilization of all resources in a way that will best suit any of constraints or rules. So our aim is to develop a general-purpose automated system which can effectively generate automatic class allocation when given with several input constraints.

The concept of report production has been computerized hence, no more delay in report generation to the Hospital, Patient and Doctors. Errors made on hand held calculators and dealt out completely. The method used to develop the system include iterative water full model approach, dataflow, logical and entity relationship diagram where used to design the system and finally the language used MySQL, PHP, HTML & CSS.

For over half a century, Population Studies have reported significant advances in methods of demographic analysis. conceptual and mathematical theories of demographic dynamics and behavior, and the use of these theories and methods to extend scientific knowledge and to inform policy and practice. Today developing countries Kenya inclusive have been facing problems in birth certificates processing and their records management which has always resulted from excessive corruption, poor security, inappropriate records management criteria and forgery especially by aging government employees who are always struggling to secure their job positions before retiring. In Kenya the same problem has been experienced in the government employees who utilize the weaknesses in the current manual way of document handling, to keep on falsifying about their true age in the office of the registrar general. This has been as a result of the registrar generates office failure to embrace information technology to help them redesign their business processes by automating some of their operation procedures. Most low developing countries are facing a number of problems in birth and death certificates processing and production these include; bureaucracy, bribery, corruption, forgery, security and poor records management which is currently done manually. This makes the processing of documents slow and more hectic. Therefore, the government of Kenya needs to come up with an automated birth and death certificates records management system to help reduce these problems through embracing information and communication technology (ICT). Therefore there is need to carry out research so as to come out with a secure and a more effective automated system to streamline some business processes such as registration and applications to improve efficiency, enhance planning and decision making An Automated Online Births and Deaths Records Management System is an Information System that serves to capture, store, retrieve and disseminate information about both births and deaths, process certificates and records management in the office of the administrator general of Kenya. It offers a means of information sharing as well as automating the existing manually driven record keeping facility.

ABSTRACT Bus ticketing process in Kenya is one of the slowest and time wasting yet it is the mains means of travel between the capital cities to major towns. Currently use of mobile telephone is widespread and considerable penetration has been achieved. In Kenya the application of bus ticketing system is yet to be explored. This comes in the light that Kenya’s bus travel business has grown steadily over time without matching improvement in ticketing or booking services. For long there has complaints and dissatisfaction among the public because travelers move long distances to book tickets and suffer congestion at bus terminals, unnecessary time wasting as a result of misplaced tickets and unauthorized agents who can cause financial loses. Ticket booking at bus companies is inherently time consuming, inconvenient and sometimes frustrating for time conscious passengers and therefore there is need to develop efficient mechanism that operates through an increasingly available technology like the mobile phone and specifically through a widely used application like SMS. The study examined SMS bus booking reduced terminal congestion, minimize time wastage and eliminate unnecessary expenditure. Bus ticketing is the process whereby customers can order, pay for, obtain and validate tickets from any location and at any time using mobile phones. The passenger downloads the essential program onto his [her mobile phone. This program allows the passenger to press a button to send an SMS to server indicating their travel details (Departure Date, Departure time, Destination Town, Departure Town).

Therefore it has been used by not only usual people, but also by car dealers and retailers want to easily sell their cars securely and for accountability. This system has achieved the objectives of this study by designing and developing an online system using HTML, PHP and JavaScript. This has saved a lot of time for system evolution since it won’t call for coming up with new requirements. Besides the incremental model will be used which unlike the waterfall model is efficient for this project since it is of a smaller scale.

All activities and services advancement reports in Umbwa Kali Car Wash are done manually; and this causes a waste of time and outperformance of the car wash. The purpose of this work is to design and implement a web based application which will help this car wash to manage all problems relating to the communication between customers, employees and car wash staff. This application offers the ability of communicating with customers and car wash management quickly. It also offers the owner of car wash the ability to view all activity processes done by managers on daily basis through bill reports. For the development of this project two methodologies will be used: the research methodology and the software engineering methodology. Research methodology consists of interviewing and reviewing and the literature necessary to carry out this study. The population of this study is 60 including 40 employees of the carwash and 20 customers. Employees are many compared to customers because most of time customers are used to leave their car to the car wash to pick them back when they have been cleaned, this was the main challenge to the researcher because to find customers present to the car wash was not easy.
