Structural and architectural design of gymnasium - building and civil engineering project
This research project entitled “Structural Design Of G+1 Gymnasium in Kisii University” This research carries out the analysis of the structural elements such as the design of beam, slab, column, foundation and stair which was considered in this project and determine the capacity of my gymnasium where it will be able to accommodate 1300 people and also, we have to look about ventilation system that will provide fresh air at the gymnasium.
To achieve the above objectives, the inputs data including structural loadings and architectural drawings (dead loads) were entered and processed through software like archiCAD22 and AutoCAD to produce in details all architectural drawings, and Etabs for analysis of maximum moment and shear on the structural element for Concrete Frames (Beams & Columns) and Prokon for Slab and Footing. Methods from knowledge to analyze and calculating the structural elements such as reinforcement, quantity of items, checking safety for soil if it is able to resist to the super structural element.
It was concluded that the design of gymnasium was a very careful task to achieve because each structure member was designed at their most critically loaded areas to provide the maximum safety resistance and serviceability of such public building.
The results showed that the designed steel reinforcements to be arranged in slab l5T12@200 C/C and 3T10 @250 C/C at the bottom while for T beam designed steel reinforcements were 6T20@47 C/C at the top and 7T16@28 C/C at the bottom another L beam designed steel reinforcement were 2T8@273 C/C at the top and 2T8@280 C/C at the bottom. And for column the designed steel reinforcement was 5T25@250C/C for ground floor part the column and T8@200 C/C for first floor, second for the designed steel reinforcement were 6T16@100 C/C
and 6T16 @ 100 C/C, for the stair designed steel reinforcement were 8T10@260C/C for main and 6T8@160 C/C.

Design of 2KM Road Pavement - civil engineering project
The main goal of flexible road pavement is to lower the sub grade’s stress to a point where it isn't affected by traffic, preventing the sub grade from deforming. A thorough final year project report covering a 2km section has been completed at Kisii National Polytechnic, and planned. This project's primary goal is to design flexible road pavement of Kisii Town. The site visit and data collection are the first steps in the methodology for designing the flexible road pavement. The AASHTO method is used, and input parameters such as reliability, over standard deviation, standard normal deviation, lane distribution factor, and direction distribution factor are taken from libraries and the internet.1,2,3,5,6, and the Corresponding CBR values are, in that order, 14.748%, 5.8%, 32.204%, 17.503%, 17.580%, and 27.49%. Sub base and base material have respective design CBRs of 26.79% and 72.33%. Following analysis of the relevant traffic survey, w18 =186883.3872= 0.186883*106 ESAL was calculated. The design MR of the pavement layers for the sub grade, sub base, and base were taken into consideration, and their respective pressures were 16943.67 psi, 20955.27psi, and 39568.96 psi. There are numbers for the design structure. Sub base, base, and sub grade are in that order, 1.9, 1.7, and 1.3 for sub grade. The coefficients of the structure layers for the surface, base, and sub base are 0.44, 0.131, and 0.11, in that order. The final drainage coefficient of 1.20 indicates that the layer thicknesses for all sections are 7.62 cm for surfacing, 12.7 cm for base, and 17.78 cm for sub base.

Determinants of customer satisfaction on banquet services in hotels in kisii town - hospitality and tourism research project
Get your editable research project
This study sought to analyse determinants of customer satisfaction of banquet services in Kisii Town, Kenya. The drop in influx of foreign and domestic tourists seeking for hospitality services in Kisii State has forced hoteliers into competing for banquet events as a means of remaining in business. Customers are the focus of every successful service operations; it is important that banquet managers know what customers want in banquet service operations in order to stop them from switching to other providers and remaining loyal to a provider. The objectives of the study were: to determine the relationship between socio-economic background of customers and their satisfaction of banquet services offered in Kisii Town, to examine the impact of hotel location on customer satisfaction of the banquet service, to assess the effect of price on customer satisfaction, and to investigate the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction of banquet services offered in hotels in Kisii Town. The study adopted descriptive research survey design. Quantitative methods were used to collect primary data. Fisher’s formula was used to select a sample population of this study. The study targeted a population of 391, which comprised of the clients that sponsored the banquet functions and attendees of banquet services in hotels in Kisii Town. The study sampled 50% of the hotels whereby purposive sampling technique was employed to select 17 hotels representing three types of hotel classifications; ranging from ‘A’ to ‘C’ category. In addition purposive sampling method was used to select clients who booked for banquet events, while probability sampling techniques were used to select the attendees who participated in the study. The study used structured questionnaires to collect primary data from the respondents. Descriptive statistical analysis such as standard deviation, mean ranking was applied to describe the study variables in line with the study objectives. Gap analysis using the service quality measurement instrument (SERVQUAL) developed by Parasuraman, Zeithml and Berry (1988) was used to determine the customer satisfaction in relation to quality of service rendered. Spearman Rank Order Correlation (rho) and multiple regression analysis were used to assess the relationship between banquet service quality and customer satisfaction. The analysed data was presented in tables and charts to represent quantitative findings. The study findings were summarised and conclusion made in an attempt to describe the research objectives. The study, in summary, found that the demographic characteristics, price of the banquet services, location and tangibility aspect of SERVQUAL did not influence customer satisfaction. However, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy dimensions of SERVQUAL influenced the customer satisfaction on quality service. The study recommends that hotels should develop standard operations procedures as a measure of ensuring coordinated service delivery to address the reliability, responsiveness, apathy and empathy dimension aspect of the service quality which the study revealed to be lacking in the service delivery process.
